What each platform needs for auto-posting

These requirements come from the platforms themselves (Meta and TikTok), not from us — they only let apps publish to business accounts and pages.

If you’d rather not switch or create a Page, you simply use assisted posting for that platform — same content, one extra tap.

Switch Instagram to a Business account (2 minutes)

This is the most common step, and it’s free, reversible, and keeps everything — your username, followers, and every post.

  1. Open the Instagram app → your profile → the menu (☰) → Settings and privacy.
  2. Tap Account type and tools → Switch to professional account.
  3. Choose a category (e.g., “Real Estate”) and select Business (not Creator — Business is required to auto-publish Reels).
  4. When prompted, connect it to your Facebook Page (create one in a couple of taps if you don’t have one yet).
  5. Back in your HOWSR dashboard, connect Instagram — and you’re set for hands-off posting.
A quick heads-up on “bot” auto-posters. Some tools claim to auto-post to personal Instagram/Facebook accounts. Those use unofficial workarounds that violate Meta’s rules and can get your account restricted or banned. We will never put your account at risk — for personal accounts we use assisted posting instead. It’s the safe, compliant way.

TikTok & LinkedIn

TikTok works with any account type — you just authorize HOWSR once. LinkedIn posts to your personal profile and reconnects roughly once a year. Both are hands-off once connected.

The short version

You’re never excluded. If you want fully hands-off posting, a 2-minute Instagram switch (and a Facebook Page) gets you there. If you’d rather keep things personal, we hand you finished, ready-to-post content every day — you just tap share. Either way, you show up looking like the busiest agent in town.
